NACCOM is pleased to announce that we’re recruiting for a Network and Operations Assistant.

This is a rare chance to join our small, friendly and dedicated team at an exciting time for the organisation, as we prepare to launch our new Strategy. The Network and Operations Assistant will play a key role working alongside NACCOM staff and members to support and facilitate our collective work to end destitution in the asylum and wider immigration system. 

Key details:

Responsible to: Finance and Operations Co-ordinator   

Hours: 37.5 hours per week   

Salary: £23,426 starting salary per annum + 6% pension. London weighting will be considered.  

Leave25 days per annum pro rata plus bank holidays  

Contract: Permanent. Part-time will be considered.  

Location: Home-based in the UK with regular travel requirements within the UK. Possibility of being based within a member organisation’s office.

Organisational Context:  

The No Accommodation Network (NACCOM) is committed to bringing an end to destitution amongst people seeking asylum, refugees and migrants with no recourse to public funds living in the UK. NACCOM exists to promote best practice in and support the establishment of accommodation projects that reduce destitution amongst people seeking asylum, as well as migrants with no recourse to public funds (NRPF) and / or refugees facing barriers to accessing affordable housing.  

We do this by:  

  • providing networking opportunities to encourage, empower and connect members  
  • sharing knowledge and promoting best practice to provide pathways out of destitution  
  • working with others (including those with lived experience) to raise awareness of destitution and campaign for a just and humane asylum system  
  • gathering and disseminating data on the scale of destitution and positive outcomes achieved by members. 

Job purpose: 

This is a varied role providing vital support to NACCOM and its members by: 

  • Supporting the Network Development team in the delivery of excellent support to the network 
  • Managing the administration of new membership applications  
  • Organising and managing the diary of NACCOM events across the year 
  • Maintaining up to date records on the CRM database 
  • Updating content on the NACCOM website 
  • Assisting with administrative, financial and operational tasks relating to the running of NACCOM, including meeting minute-taking 
  • Being the first point of contact for the organisation, including managing calls to the NACCOM office landline and general email address 

Duties & Responsibilities:  

Network support:

  • Provide administrative support to the Network Development team in the delivery of excellent support to the network 
  • Maintain the online member resources and platforms and assist with updating website content  
  • Day-to-day responsibility for member communications, including management of the Google groups communications forum 
  • Collect up to date contact details and permissions from members and record the information on the database and online Project Directory
  • Assisting with annual survey administration  
  • Organising and managing the diary of NACCOM events across the year, including member hub meetings and the conference, including contributing to event agendas, booking venues/Zoom, managing invites, updating the participants’ list, creating delegate packs and recording feedback
  • Managing the administration of new membership applications.  

Operational support:

  • Provide administrative support to the Director and other members of the team as agreed with the Finance and Operations Co-ordinator
  • Respond to incoming NACCOM phone calls and office emails
  • Assist with financial administration by ensuring receipts are collected and recorded for staff/trustee/volunteer expenses
  • Update the NACCOM database (Salesforce CRM system) as required
  • Assist with the preparation of papers for and the minute-taking of meetings
  • Work to uphold NACCOM’s policies and procedures, in particular its Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding policies
  • Occasionally travel to team meetings in the UK as required and as Covid restrictions allow.
