The Role
Apolitical’s Learning team designs and delivers bite sized learning through courses for public servants, globally. From evidence in policy making to leading teams effectively in government, there are more than 18 online courses connecting learners to new thinking and to each other. We also co-develop courses around a focused topic with global organisations and governmental departments including Gender Based Violence and Sustainable Finance.

The Community Engagement Manager will guide learners through courses, capturing insights from them, tracking engagement data and sharing this back with teams to improve the overall learner experience.


Experience
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years experience ideally within communications, events, community, online education, marketing or a similar field.

This is a full time role. You will work alongside another Community Engagement Manager and report to the Learning Community Manager.

Requirements

Overseeing course delivery

  • Smooth running of the courses from registration to email communication, webinars to discussion forums and as the first point of contact, troubleshooting any customer issues.
  • Big ideas about how to encourage interaction between learners as well as thinking about the detail; from ensuring course dates are always open to creating and managing certificates.


Planning and executing webinars

  • Thinking creatively about keeping learners engaged, learning from specialists and each other.
  • Creating event outlines, thinking about technical set up of events and running these on the day.
  • Relationship management from speaker acquisition to liaison with translators if necessary.


Supporting engagement tracking and course promotion

  • Keeping up-to-date metrics on course engagement and thinking about how we analyse this data and present this back to the wider company and other stakeholders.
  • Working with wider teams to send out promotional emails to advertise upcoming courses.

  • Confident writer and speaker
  • Clear, empathetic user-facing copy and fluent English
  • Leading social activities online An interest in community management and bringing people to interact together
  • An eye for detail You’ll be on the frontline of sending out communications to senior public servants all over the world
  • Confident and calm under pressure You’ll communicate well with a diverse range of audiences, including senior leaders and decision makers
  • Analytical focus You’ll enjoy assessing the effectiveness of your efforts by analysing quantitative data and the results of your experiments
  • Great at balancing quality with speed. You will be stretched in this role – that is the way startups are! You need to enjoy operating in fast-paced, changeable environment while not compromising the quality of your work



Even better if you have;

  • Experience with marketing software
  • Exposure to government or a related space
  • Exposure to technology startups, in particular product teams


Location

The Community Engagement Manager is a full-time role which requires one day of work from our London office each week (you may work more days in the office if you wish). If you are currently based in another country, you must be willing to relocate and have a right to work in the UK.

Stage 2

Candidates who are long-listed for the second stage will be asked to complete a written task that should take no more than two hours to complete.


Stage 3

Candidates who are shortlisted to the final stage will be invited to a competency based interview and also have the opportunity to meet other members of the wider Apolitical team.
