Our key bakery partner Celtic Bakers are constantly recruiting for new Bakers and several different roles in the production of high-quality baked goods, and they are keen to give opportunities to refugees looking for their first job in the UK! All ranges of experiences are needed both on the early and afternoon shifts. Be part of a team of passionate bakers!

 

Location: Celtic Bakers, Mowlem Trading Estate, Leeside Rd, London N17 0QJ

Job Types: Full-time, Contract. 5 days a week according to Rota.

Remuneration: £11.00 to £13.00 per hour, according to experience 

Shifts: Morning shift 5.00am to 2.00pm, afternoon shift is 2.00pm to 11.00pm.

Characteristics: Physically demanding jobs, requiring a 9hrs shift on your feet, and shaping dough! 

 

JOBS PURPOSES:

Baking of high-quality sourdough bread. Responsible for weighing, mixing, scaling, shaping and moulding doughs, and managing the ovens. 

Packing orders according to delivery notes, differentiating over 100 different baked products.

Crispbread production, managing tools and equipment to produce the range of organic crackers.

Hygiene team, maintaining the high standards of hygiene, health and safety in the food-producing environment.

  • Works at a high level of efficiency and quality of food production.
  • Works with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Works to produce a range of bread following food hygiene best practices.
  • Active troubleshooting and an ability to adapt to the daily changes involved in bread making.

For Who? 

  • You are or want to become a Baker, or work in food production
  • You are above 17 years of age 
  • You have refugee status and the right to work in the UK, and can provide relevant documentation
  • You are currently supported by another Charity or Organisation with work, Universal Credit, legal advice, housing and community activities (if you are not we can connect you with one) 
  • You have not had an official job in UK yet, or you are struggling to find one
  • You have at least a basic level of English (B1 Level equivalent, ESOL Entry level 3, lower intermediate)     
  • You live within zone 1 to 6 of London 
  • You are able to Full-Time (5 days a week), including weekends, following a weekly rota, with morning or afternoon shifts.
  • You are able to travel to the bakery in N17 0QJ via public transport.
  • You are able to communicate effectively via text and phone calls.
