Breadwinners is a grassroots charity and a not for profit social enterprise supporting refugees.
 
Set up in 2016, they invest funding to set up markets stalls which sustain themselves from bread sales, providing the first work opportunities for refugees in the UK and supporting their career progression.

 

About

Providing early intervention support for young people seeking asylum aged 16 to 24. This programme supports them on tailored work experience as market stall assistants, training and mentoring programme based on our market stalls to build transferable skills, grow their networks, gain UK work experience and access mentoring so they are better integrated and prepared to gain employment when they do receive status.

84% of our “Risers Programme” participants who gained their right to work permit since graduating from the programme are now in part-time employment. 46% have done so by progressing to our follow-up Breadwinners Programme.

We are currently supporting 16 young people on our Risers Programme, we run it every 2 months.
