10 years ago, from around a little kitchen table, came a big idea that would inspire the nation — to bring together the most unique, stylish and never-before-seen products that are hard to find anywhere else. That’s why we’re home to more than 5,000 of the UK’s best small creative businesses that we’re proud to call our Partners, here to do what they do best — surprise us with thoughtful gifts, original homeware, unforgettable experiences and more.

As our People and Talent Apprentice, you will help us to create a brilliant experience for our current team as well as candidates who want to work with us. We do this by treating our people as individuals – not with a one-size-fits-all approach – and also like adults (after all, who wants a HR ‘mum’ or ‘dad’ at work?!). In return, you will develop your skills and gain practical knowledge across both HR (People) and recruitment (Talent).

A typical day

  • Create a brilliant candidate experience – organising interviews and helping them to run smoothly
  • Welcome our new joiners and make sure they get all the practical info they need for the best start to their NOTHS experience, including contracts and first day communications
  • Be the gatekeeper of our candidate and people systems, ensuring we hold up-to-date information for everyone that works for us
  • Be on hand to help Team NOTHS with their ‘people’-related queries, this might be holiday, pay or benefit related for example
  • Support with the flawless administration of our people processes, from letter writing and processing invoices to paying our team and setting up their benefits
  • Continuously look at ways to improve our processes and the way we do things, making sure they are always reflective of our unique culture

You must have

  • Five GCSE grades C – A* (4-9) or equivalent, including English and Maths

Skills needed

  • Communication

  • Teamwork
  • You must have a good eye for detail (think Sherlock Holmes) and be super organised
  • Have the ability to communicate clearly both face-to-face and in writing
  • Be passionate and conscientious – you really care about doing a good job
  • Have natural curiosity and an eagerness to learn
  • Be a team player who thrives when working with others and who is friendly and approachable
  • You’ll also have a kind heart and want our people to be the absolute best they can be
