Would you like to work with and learn from the biggest brands in the world, bringing your purpose to life with your work? Think Lynx, Hellmann’s, Ben & Jerry’s and Simple. The role of a Business Administration Apprentice at Unilever contributes to the efficiency of our organisation. You will demonstrate strong communication skills and will be expected to show initiative, manage your priorities as well as solve problems and make decisions.

A typical day

  • As an apprentice with the Consumer Engagement Platform team, you’ll spend time learning about our front end and/or back end tech stack and products, and how to effectively troubleshoot and identify bugs, before transitioning into testing and fixing.
  • We work in an Agile way, so communication and collaboration is key to what we do. Our tech stack varies depending on team and projects you’re working on, on the front end Javascript, HTML and CSS are the main languages we use; whilst on the back-end you can expect to use some Python and C#. As well as learning about our tech and products, you will also gain exposure to things like setting up a local build and source control.
  • You will learn about the software development lifecycle and the other tools we use including Visual Studio (code editor), Tridion (content management), Selenium and Cypress (tools for writing automated testing scripts) and Axe (a tool for testing the accessibility of a web page). There are some other tools too, but this gives you an idea of the amount you’ll learn during your time with us.
